Arriving in Israel to serve as a lone soldier can be extremely challenging. With no place to stay or eat, no one to consult or ask questions to; fulfilling the goal of serving in the IDF is fraught with difficulty. Chayal el Chayal is the lone soldiers’ home away from home in the center of Jerusalem, addressing the specific needs of this ever-growing group of volunteers. Our staff consists of former lone soldiers – who themselves went through these challenges – and are thus uniquely able to help these wonderful, highly-motivated volunteers make the transition from their home country to Israel much smoother.
